Baseball Team Plays in Historic Evansville Stadium
Published Apr 16, 2008
It seems incredible in this day and age, but minor league baseball in Evansville is being played in a stadium that was built in 1915.
Bosse Field is home to the Evansville Otters, a team that has actually been playing in the independent Frontier League only since 1995. The Otters average 2,500 spectators a game at Bosse Field and have reached the playoffs in seven of their vv13 seasons, including a championship in 2006.
Prior to the Otters, Evansville had been without a baseball team since the Evansville Triplets relocated following the 1984 season. The team colors for the Otters are navy blue and maroon, and their regular season runs from late May through early September.
